2011 Cobra models  (Aug 26, 2010)

Once again, the CX65 receives huge improvements for 2011. Starting off with a new transmission that has so many enhancements that we can't list them all. Some of the big ones include: A hard coated, super lightweight shift drum to reduce weight and friction, an improved shifting mechanism that adjusts the shifting leverage ratio for small feet making for super smooth shifting, and square cut gear dogs for more positive gear engagement. At the back end of the bike, three firsts for the industry: A full floating rear brake caliper that reduces friction and improves feel, a lighter and stiffer Aluminium swingarm that is bonded together with the same adhesive that fighter jets are assembled with, and a dual-adjustable (high and low speed) rear shock that sets new standards for ride and handling. The engine receives an enhanced ignition curve for improved power and starting, and a larger bore carburettor for better power delivery throughout the RPM range. Updated cases and head also increase overall power. Finally, the frame and wheels are lighter weight for enhanced manoeuvrability.

Quite a package for 2011!

The bike that started it all for serious peewee competition, the 2011 Cobra King 50 Small Wheel and Big Wheel, hosts a bevy of big improvements that will ensure this bike retains its premier standing. Suspension at both ends receives big improvements as the King will feature the first-ever dual-adjustable (high and low speed compression) rear shock on any size mini. Friction and stiction in the front fork are also drastically reduced with the addition of all-new PTFE impregnated bronze slider bushings. In the engine department, a revised cylinder improves mid and top range power output, and an all new Cobra Friction Drive (CFD) improves protection of critical driveline components while at the same time is lighter weight and easier to adjust. Furthermore, the transmission receives an added dose of toughness with the addition of a wider output shaft gear. Topping improvements off is an all-new Dunlop Geomax rear tire for improved traction and stability. All this (and more!) will make the 2011 Cobra King 50 the dominate senior-class peewee bike for next year!.
