TM UK's Stuart Edmonds has been chosen to represent Team Ireland in the upcoming Motocross Des Nations to be held at Thunder Valley, Colorado, in September.
Stuart made his Des Nations debut in 2008 and was then chosen to represent Ireland once more in 2009, unfortunately due to injury Stuart had to relinquish his place in the 2009 team and was forced to watch the Italian event from the sidelines.
Spending 6 months over the latter part of 2009 and early 2010 recuperating from his injuries, the current MX1 and MX2 Irish champion, missed out on the crucial 'winter period' where the majority of training and preparation for the new racing season takes place.
For the start of the 2010 racing season Stuart was literally 'thrown in at the deep end' and had only ridden a couple of times before competiting at the first British Championship round. Now 6 months on Stuart, who also made the huge commitment to move to the UK full time to be closer to TM UK, has begun once more to show the form he is capable of. Stuart's exceptional talent, determination and experience has given Ireland's team manager, Stephen Russell, a natural choice to represent Ireland alongside team-mates, Gordon Crockard and Martin Barr to complete his 3 man 2010 Motocross Des Nation squad.
Preparations are now taking place to ensure that Stuart has everything he needs to compete at this prestigious event and 'Team Irelend' will be setting off to Colorado the week before the event takes place, this essential time will give the riders and the mechanics time to aclimatise to the huge elavation change and to set up the machinery for the oxygen poor conditions.
