Anthony Boissiere Takes Fifth Overall In The French GP  (Jun 7, 2010)

Race after race the bond strengthens between the French rider and his new TM MX 450Fi machine and continuously the results are improving too, the highest placed French MX1 rider in his home GP and whilst competing against the best riders in the world, this is the result achieved by Anthony Boisseire who has now joined the exclusive club of the world's best riders.

Always followed closely by the technical Manager of the TM Racing Team Patriek Heydens, Anthony has everything necessary to make the big leap forward and aim for a world championship podium result, no doubt it will come soon.

On Saturday's qualifying race Anthony shown himself to be at ease on the French circuit finishing in sixth place in front of David Philipparts.

The first heat scheduled for Sunday started in the difficult and heavy conditions left after Saturday nights rainfall. Boissiere makes a good start and in the early part of the race tries not to make any mistakes that may affect the result, now comfortable with the conditions mid-race he begins to push and starts to pass his opponents finishing seventh.

In the second heat, with the ground now drying, Anthony does his best. Starting around eighth place he immediately attacks through the first lap and is soon into fourth place behind championship leader Tony Cairoli. After closing the gap Boissiere passes Cairoli, Meanwhile just a few seconds in front of him Desalle and Philipparts are having their own battle. Nearing the end of the race Cairoli increases his pace and overtakes Boissiere again. Handling his position with great maturity, Anthony finishes in fourth place just four seconds behind Cairoli and just eleven behind race winner Philipparts, a result which allows him to finish the French Grand Prix in fifth place overall, up the world rankings to twelfth place and bring TM into sixth position in the Manufacturers World Championship.

Anthony Boissiere said after the race: "..... It was a fantastic race! I was able to push a little more and try to make the podium but I did not want to risk ruining an already good result, a result going to reward myself and all the staff of my team who are working very hard to put myself in a position to obtain these results .......".

Return to the World Championship for the Czech Martin Michek who had missed the GP of Spain to take part at the second round of the Czech Championship, where he won both heats, and the GP of USA. Martin, nineteenth place in the qualifying race on Saturday, was forced to stop in heat one after a fall while finishing twenty-second place in heat two.
