TM Racing recently visited America to compete at the famous Nascar and Indycar circuit Homestead International Speedway, Miami. Obviously this was a 2 wheeled adventure for TM and the challenge was to partake in a round of the Championship Cup Series, an event more used to seeing superbikes as opposed to supermoto bikes!. With a line up of Ducati 900cc/1000cc/748 Rs, Bimota 1000cc, Suzuki and Kawasaki 650cc machinery the TM Racing 660 SMX single cylinder supermotard machine was the odd one out for sure but that didn't stop them.
TM rider Vito Candela commented " we had to set the bike up for 210-230 kph for the fast turns in order to compete with the Ducati's and Bimota's, with the Suzuki's and Kawasaki's we were not concerned as we passed them like they were parked" !.
The end result saw the TM machine take the overall victory in front of a stunned crowd and even more stunned opposition on their $35,000 race prepared superbikes. Upon recieving the winners trophy the announcer even had to ask Vito what a 'TM' was to which a reply came from his fellow competitors, "a fast blue thing" !.
