Chareyre & TM Racing take Sixth World Title  (Aug 8, 2017)

TM Racing and Thomas Chareyre are the Supermoto world champions once again.

The final stage of the Supermoto World Championship took place on the other side of the world, a beautiful and open setting that gave the riders a lot of exposure to their adoring spectators.

Thomas Chareyre comes to this appointment with red leaders plate after the last round in Spain. The French rider can write another important page to add to his own story, and us also, claiming TM Racing's dominance in the recent history of Supermoto. It was not easy at all, the outcome of the three races can always throw up something unforeseen, especially in the third race where 'inverted' grid is certainly not an easy thing to contend with.

Thomas started the event correctly by taking the pole position, just ahead of with Marc Schmidt, the most dangerous opponent to Thomas' title dreams.

Chareyre was perfect in both of the first two races, starting from pole excellently, dominating the races and stretching in the standings further still. In the third and final race, Thomas could easily control his pursuers and ride conservatively, but once again he wanted to put his mark on the race and the world title, by going on to win.

Thomas Chareyre becomes a champion for the sixth time, entering into the 'legends' book.

On the same weekend Diego Monticelli should have run the Italian championship where he was set for the title, unfortunately two weeks before the race Diego fall in training, the result, a broken metacarpal. Monticelli tried to run but did not want to risk compromising the second half of the season.

Alex Serafini commented on the race: "We are in the seventh heaven, Thomas and all the team did an amazing job we won our sixth World title together, we still have a small step to take and take home the continental title in September. I want to thank all the members of the team, but also all those who work in the company."
