ACU Premier Cup - Fatcat  (Jun 5, 2017)

Round 3 of the 2017 ACU Premier Cup took place this past weekend at the Fatcat venue in Doncaster. Despite a deluge of rain on Friday evening the track, albeit a little damp in places, took the water as well as could be hoped for and the circuit provided some great action throughout the weekend.

The TM UK team was there to compete in a number of classes with Jim Davies, Richy Roberts and Troy Willerton in the 125cc Expert class, Jack Grayshon and Billy Collins in the 85cc Big Wheel class and Jim Davies 'doubling up' and also competing on his 300cc 2-stroke machine in the 'Clubman' class. We even witnessed Troy Willerton flying on a new TM 300Fi MX 4-stroke machine in the last Clubman race of the weekend.

In the 125cc class it was all action as per usual with the regular front runners doing battle in their 5 scheduled races. Troy Willerton was the man in the sand this time out and Troy took the overall win in the class with some great rides and plenty of hole-shots to go with them. Team-mate Jim came home in 3rd place after some epic battles in the leading group, Jim still leads the championship standings. Richy Roberts had a good day also coming home in 5th place overall, however he may of lost some goggles in the process, both on track and to Jack !.

In the 85cc class it was a welcome return for Jack Grayshon, who has been out of action with injury for the past few months. Jack showed great form on his 'debut' ride taking a well earned 2nd overall after being absent from action for a prolonged period. Billy Collins once again showed improvement as he settles into his new machine and surroundings and the results are starting to come. Billy did have a crash which did not help his overall standings but the improvements made are great to see.

In the Clubman class Jim put together 5 great starts and 5 great races to give himself a very well deserved 2nd overall, a big ask doing 10 races over the weekend on 2 very different machines. Troy competed in the last race of the weekend on the new TM 300Fi MX machine and took a great 7th place finish, an awesome result in a competitive class on a new stock bike that he had never ridden it in anger before.

A big well done to all of the team riders, supporters and tech's. A big well done to all of the other TM riders at the event, Alfie, Jake, Marshall, well done to all. And of course a very big thank you to all of the teams sponsors and supporters.

With thanks, TM UK.
