GP of Mexico - Leon  (Apr 4, 2017)

The fourth round of the 2017 World Motocross Championship took place on the track of Leon in Mexico, a track with very hard and slippery surface that has created many problems for the respecially on Saturday.

The TM Factory team presented itself at this race with the intention of bringing home a good result, this was in the hands of our pilot, Samuele Bernardini, but unfortunately luck has turned its back on the Tuscan driver at this event.

In the qualifying race Samuele did not get a good start, on a track where it was very difficult to overtake he struggled to pass finishing in 13th place.

In race 1 Bernardini makes a good start that saw him recover some positions in the early stages, but he struggled to keep a good pace and pass opponents simultaneously. Unfortunately, passing in a deep rut the hard Mexican earth smashed the gear lever and it got stuck against the engine casing, for the last few laps Samuel could not shift gears, he finished in thirteenth place.

In the second race luck has once again been against Samuele. In the early stages of the race there is contact with a wayward opponent, the impact broke the front disc and because of this problem he exited the track. Bernardini then completes the entire race without the front brake, this sees him failing to push as hard as he can and ends up in the back of the pack.

This ends a weekend that is not positive for the TM Factory Team.

Next meeting in a fortnight for the first race in Italy in Arco di Trento.

Marco Ricciardi commented on the race: "A race to forget, I am very disappointed because for this event we have been working hard and everything was working very well, we prepared the bike to run at 1,800 meters high and the bike worked perfectly, we also worked a lot on suspension. Luck unfortunately did not turn on our side for the whole weekend, there are still 16 Grand Prix and 32 races and we will do everything to return to the positions they deserve. "
