MX GP - Charlotte  (Sep 5, 2016)

The first of two Grand Prix' scheduled in the United States did not begin in the best way, due to a hurricane that passed over Charlotte the organization had to cancel the program for the first day of riding, Saturday was abandoned.

Samuele Bernardini did not have the time to prepare well the race on the bikes that were shipped to the US in advance, the qualifying race did not even take place so we went to the gate with the rankings from the timed qualifications. Bernardini setting the twelfth fastest time.

In race 1, due to strong abdominal pains, Samuele was unable to showcase all his speed, running a race at less then maximum potential. Unfortunately Samuele could not do better than the sixteenth position.

With the help of medical personnel they were able to relieve the severe stomach pain of the young Team TM Factory rider in between the 2 moto's.

Samuele started the second race with an amazing pace and jumped into third place early doors, a position that he managed to defend it for several laps. Bernardini however was not 100%, his physical condition during the race deteriorated and he was forced to pick up the pace to crossed the line in 9th place.

Samuele Bernardini, thanks to the points gained, is firmly in eighth place in the championship.

Only a few days break and then the team will move to California for the last race of the season at the legendary Glen Helen circuit.

Marco Ricciardi commented on the race: "Unlucky race, yesterday we could not try the fast trackand get 'set-up', this was very detrimental for us. Samuele unfortunately was not good has suffered from sharp abdominal pain and in the first heat was unable to give 100%. Much better second race where he finished in a good 9th place. Now we have to our best in Glen Helen to try to bring home the seventh position in the championship."
