MX GP - Spain  (May 30, 2016)

We arrive at the middle part of season where Spanish GP marks the halfway point of the 2016 World Championship.

Good news for TM Team also this weekend, the young rider, Alessandro Manucci, is back to running his first European race of the season.

In the MX2 class, Samuele Bernardini, starts the qualifying race on a gate position that is not so easy, this is due to a difficult timed qualifying session. A violent storm slowed the riders on the track and this did not give the opportunity to Samuele to get a good, clean, fast lap to better his gate pick. At the start of the qualifying heat Bernardini manages to start well and with a good comeback ends in 13th place.

Unfortunately in the warm-up session on Sunday morning Samuele is involved in a very bad fall down one of the larger inclines. A very spectacular tumble from top to bottom, but fortunately without major consequences, just some bruising and small blunt trauma. However, with Samuele not in perfect physical condition after the fall he rides in some discomfort.

A good start to race one witnesses Samuele passing the marker on the first lap in tenth position. with a series of good laps he ups his ranking to seventh place, unfortunately in the last two laps, because of the severe pain, he looses some pace and ends the race in 10th place.

In race 2 Samuele was magnificent, a great start and a great run throughout the race, always on the attack, the young Italian riding his TM 250Fi MX showed good speed to cross the line in seventh place.

With two good results he scales the world rankings and is now in eighth place, just one point from seventh in the standings.

In the 125cc class we have witnessed a great performance by Paolo Lugana, over time this young rider is showing increased maturity in his racing. Paolo finished seventh overall and if he had not made some mistakes in the first race on Saturday he could aspire to a higher position.

Manucci Alessandro, on his return to racing, tries not to make mistakes taking home the 13th place. After his long injury we must build speed and confidence once again.

Marco Ricciardi Team Manager commented on the race: "The Spanish track is a favourite of Samuele, he was just finding the right feeling when in the warm-up he has been the victim of a bad fall that has affected him physically a lot. In the first moto obtaining the tenth position was good, with a sore leg he could not make good use of the rear brake, in race 2 after a few more treatments he made a great race finishing seventh. This week will have to recover for France. Excellent performance of our young riders in the 125 who are growing a lot."
