Chareyre Dominates Round Two of Supermoto World Championship  (May 3, 2016)

The second round of the Supermoto World Championship was held in Spain this past weekend on the track in Albaida, near Valencia.

Thomas Chareyre is approaching event as the current leader of the World Championship standings after the double victory in Jerez.

Unfortunately, the TM Factory team lost Diego Monticelli during testing, Diego had a bad fall that witnessed him dislocate his right shoulder. In the next few days the young driver will seek medical advice and be able understand the recovery time required.

On Saturday, a violent storm before free practice, has forced the organisers to cancel the afternoon program and the qualification heats were moved to Sunday morning.

Thomas Chareyre, as in the previous races, has shown all his strength, setting the fastest time in the timed practice and then he goes on to lower the time, by almost a second, in the super time trial.

In Race 1 Thomas was perfect, from the first corner to the checkered flag he leads, a dominant victory. In the second race Thomas Chareyre had to earn the victory, the French rider is caught by two of you opponents at the start. However, thanks to a great tactical race he launches the decisive attack with two laps to go and takes the win. Another great double.

Two races and two victories in a world championship where for now on the calendar there are only four rounds to compete, for Thomas Chareyre half the battle is over.

The next meeting is on June 12th at the Piedmont track located in Busca, Italy.

Alex Serafini commented on the race: "We are very happy with the work Thomas is doing, the weekend has been very difficult because of the weather conditions. Chareyre is in great form and in a championship so short you cannot afford to make mistakes. We are saddened by the injured Diego, hopefully he can get back in the saddle as soon as possible."
