Chareyre Takes The Victory and Leads Supermoto World Championship  (Apr 4, 2016)

So it begins, the World Championship of 2016 in the discipline of Supermoto and The TM Factory team comes to this first event which takes place within the circuit of Jerez de La Frontera, Spain, with three riders competing under the factory awning. In addition to the reigning World Champion, Thomas Chareyre, the two young talents of Pesaro based team from the European championship, Diego Monticelli and Joan Llados.

Thomas Chareyre now has found the perfect feeling with his TM 450Fi SMX, after a little set-up to suit the circuit, and since the first free practice has always consistently been the fastest on the track. Thomas in sets an incredible time in the qualifying session and goes on to take the pole position.

At the start of the first race, in the first corner, a falling opponent bumps the rear tire of Chareyre but luckily this did not cause him problems. Thomas hammered out the fast laps in the first stint managing to make a great advantage over his nearest rival which he never relinquished, Thomas went on to take a comfortable win.

A few minutes from the start of race 2 a violent storm struck the venue, this forced the staff into action and they did a great job to prepare the bike for the now 'wet' conditions.
In the opening laps of race two Chareyre did not want to make mistakes, he happily let his opponents lead in the conditions. In the third lap, with a pass like a true champion in the bend before the finish line, he pulled ahead going onward to win with full points.

Thomas holds the red plate of the championship leader.

In the European championship Diego Monticelli starts well immediately, finding his feet with his new bike and going on to be the third fastest in qualifying that earned him the first row. Llados obtains fifth position.

In the first heat Diego held a good pace and with a flawless race has finished in third position. Llados unfortunately crashed at the first corner clashing tyres with the rear of an opponent. In race 2 the riders are on dry tyres, but just prior to the start, a light rain shower makes the race very treacherous. Diego Monticelli uses good intelligence and does not push hard and force a mistake to be made. Avoiding the risk of compromising a 'solid' result for a bad one he ends the race in 6th place.

The ext round of the world championship is on he 1st of May in Valencia.

Alex Serafini commented on the race; "We are very satisfied with the weekend, Thomas was perfect, he did not miss anything and always has been the fastest, he is in great shape and it showed. Our two European Championship guys have to gain experience with the new bike, Diego did well to bring home a good result, we continue our work to be at the top also in the European championship.
