Bernadini Debuts New TM 250Fi MX Machine  (Feb 15, 2016)

The 3rd and final round of the Italian International MX series took place this past weekend on the sand track at Ottobiano, Italy, in some cold and wet conditions. However, this was some good testing for the TM Racing Factory Team, Samulele Bernadini and the new 250Fi MX machine in anticipation of upcoming events.

For this event the young 125cc rider, Alessandro Manucci, did not take part, Alessandro recieved a small shoulder problem in practice during the week leading up to the event which he must rest in the short term.

In the MX2 class Samuele Bernardini and the new machine set excellent second fastest time in qualifying. At the start of the race the young Tuscan driver was able to gate very well, in the early stages of the race he was very strong, going into the top positions, making places and pushing further to the front. But, during his run up to the front of the field he made some small mistakes that prevented the possibility of a great result. Bernardini passes under the chequered flag in ninth position. In the overall standings of the MX2 International he finished in second place.

In the Elite MX1 and MX2 combined race Samuele managed to start strong and the first lap he was in eighth place. However, fighting with the big 450cc machines is not so easy and Bernardini has traded some positions to the bigger bikes. He ends the race in eleventh position overall, best rider of the MX2 class.

Paolo Lugana riding the TM 125 MX machine was extraordinary this weekend, very determined. In race 1 he fought for the win until the end, scoring a great second place. In Race 2 Paolo was the victim of a crash at the start, he is allocated last in 40th position on the first lap. Thanks to his fighting spirit he has recovered to ninth place and has missed the podium by only a few points. Paolo finished fourth in the overall standings.

Next meeting is on Feb 27th in Qatar for the first round of the 2016 MX World Championship.

Marco Ricciardi comments on the race: "We are satisfied with the progress made in these three races, too bad for Samuel, mistakes that saw the championship result played out until the last lap. Paolo was outstanding in the second round and showed tremendous progress, the team is working tirelessly to prepare for the next important appointments."
