Manuel Monni Wins First Round of the Italain Enduro Championship  (Feb 15, 2016)

2016 starts as we had finished the 2015 season, positive. Now we arrive at the first and second round of the Assoluti d'Italia di Enduro where Manuel Monni rose to the top.

In this event in Lignano Sabbiadoro, he fights against the fierce competition and makes the event his own after a steady start to day one, where he concluded the first stage third overall. Manuel immediately showed his incredible speed and despite this mistake in the first special test, in the cross test, he wins, beating off the competition.

On Saturday night they run the extreme test in a 'motocross' style, with a starting gate and twelve riders lined up per heat ready for battle, here too Manuel has immediately gone to the front, commanding and maintaining the leadership up to the chequered flag. Manuel cleans up and takes the win for both days in class, a third in the 'absolute' and a win in the extreme.

Present at this event in Lignano, is our world champion of the class E1, Eero Remes, for the Finnish rider a good race run. Without taking too many risks and with great concentration, Eero uses this event as a good test in anticipation of the first round of the World Enduro Championship that will be held in Morocco in April.

The newcomer to the team, the young Oliver Nelson, competes also. On Saturday, at the end of the first lap, he was 12th overall. But a technical problem after a mistake forced him to retire. whilst on Sunday the Swede showed good things in his first race at this league. The youngster needs to gain experience.

At Pietramontecorvino, in southern Italy, on 5 and 6 March will be held the third and fourth rounds of the Assoluti d'Italia di Enduro.

MONNI MANUEL: "Two day victories, a third place in the absolute and the victory in the cross race where I really enjoyed myself, who say more, a perfect weekend."

EERO REMES: "A race with no ups and downs, running with a lot of concentration and trying to never make a mistake. For me it was a good workout in preparation for the Worlds."

OLIVER NELSON: "I was very excited to start this event because I wanted to see my level, because in the Italian championship, there are almost all of the worlds best enduro riders, I am very happy and even more motivated to do well."
