Supermotard World Championship - Columbia - Chareyre Still Tops The Standings  (Aug 4, 2015)

For the second time in the history of the Supermotard World Championship we cross overseas to compete in the penultimate round World Championship in Colombia.

A marvelous landscape lies before us and the public are excited to see the riders of the World Championships. TM Racing's, Thomas Chareyre, arrives at this event as the championship leader and certainly does not want to give up his red plate now.

In the free practice sessions Thomas uses the time wisely to find a good setting and feeling with the circuit, he soon sets the fastest times in all the practice and timed sessions, his readiness is confirmed in the 'Super-pole', once again setting the fastest time out of the top six. This gives us a good start for this event in Colombia.

In Race 1 Thomas did not make the best start, but the French champion uses his head at this late stage in the championship proceedings. He is passed by the Czech rider, Kejmar, who takes second place, then shortly followed by another pass on Lazzarini to take the lead. Thomas now in 3rd place behind Lazzarini resists the urge to push to hard and make mistakes and is content with taking a good third place in this race.

In Race 2, the world champion elect, starts well into the first corner, Thomas is happy to sit close behind the leader in second position. Using good tactics and intelligence Thomas stays safe, not pushing too hard or committing any errors, he concludes his weekend on the second step of the podium.

Thomas Chareyre leaves Colombia with the same points lead over the second place rider in the standings as he arrived with, now only one event race to go to end this seasons championship.

After this very challenging trip the TM Factory Racing Team will be able to enjoy a long holiday before seeing themselves on track once more. The final race of the season will be held at the end of September in Austria.
