MX GP - Loket.  (Jul 28, 2015)

The Grand Prix of the Czech Republic in Loket was an exciting event for the TM Team. Both riders, Davide Guarneri in MX1 and Samuele Bernardini in MX2, immediately began to feel comfortable on the circuit allowing them to run at the required pace during the pre-qualification runs.

At the start of the qualifying heats Samuele Bernardini on his TM 250Fi MX machine pulls a big holeshot and heads the field, Samuele led the race for several laps, but the young Tuscan driver rider is not as his best physically and settles to a more comfortable pace. However, in the closing stages he decides to take some risks and picks up the pace once again, finishing in seventh place.

Also a good qualification race for Davide Guarneri, in only his second race after his return from injury, with a good race he finishes in twelfth position.

At the start of the first race of the MX2 class it was Bernardini once again taking a big holeshot and exiting the first turn in the lead, in the early laps Samuele was able to push hard and run the pace required, but on a very difficult track and with his fitness not 100 percent, he could not maintain this pace and concluded his race in 14th place. In MX2 race 2 Samuele again made the perfect start which saw him in the top three in the early stages and he continued to battle at the top of the standings for a few laps. With a good pace, but still physically tiring, Bernardini managed to fight for the top positions of the standings and ended his race 11th place.

In the MXGP class Davide Guarneri showcased his talent in race 1, but near the completion of a good race, and whilst settled into a comfortable 10th position on the last lap, Davide was taken down as an opponent literally rammed him off the track. Sadly Davide was in a position on the track that made it hard to be able to remount his bike and stay clear of his rivals, he was not able to recover form the crash quickly and ended his race in 20th place. In the second MXGP race Guarneri started well, immediately he begins to push and show that he can compete with his rivals. Thanks to some excellent race management, combined with a new found speed, Davide ends the race in 9th place.

A great weekend of positives for the TM Racing pilots, increasing moral and confidence for the next important races to come. The next round of the World Championship takes place next weekend at the legendary track of Lommel, in Belgium.

Team Manager, Marco Ricciardi, commented on the race: "We are very happy with this event, Samuele was very good and gave us the first holeshot with our 250Fi MX machine in race 1, albeit for the physical decline that saw him lose several positions as the race unfolded. Davide Guarneri showed good speed in both races and continues to build confidence, unfortunately in the first heat he was brought down by an opponent. The great work we are doing is now leading to better results."

Davide Guarneri commented on his race: "The weekend went pretty well, I am finding the right speed now, in the first race when I was comfortably tenth, Watson just hit me, this 'pass' was far too hard and it threw me to the ground. In the second race I went well, I also overcome some opponents. Remembering that this is my second race after injury, I am very satisfied."
