Kegums, Latvia: The 2011 Motocross World Championship is here in Kegums for round 10 of the series and for sure the game is not over yet, an exciting weekend in all classes that showed once more that there are many in each class that have the desire and possibilty to win. Cairoli scores the first double victory of the season here and Desalle, who tries so hard to stay with the leaders as he recuperates after injury, is still not giving up the fight, also Bobryshev is starting to show promise and has now taken victories beating Cairoli cleanly, as has Frossard. In MX2 Roczen and Herlings are toe to toe with Paulin showing some great pace when it all goes correctly for him others are not so far away either.
But our focus is the TM Racing Factory riders of Tanel Leok and Petr Smitka who have strong rides in this event, Tanel has not been lucky this season and Petr is still not at full strength after injury in France but this time the results are better and we look forward and progress.
MX1 Race One: In the first start Tanel does not gate well but his strength and determination see him charge hard into the first turn at the head of the pack, the hard riders of MX1 push wide into the turn and Tanel is forced outward and loses valuable places recovering lost ground. For the entire race Tanel works hard and set some very good times working himself up the chart to twelfth position at the race end.
MX1 Race Two: The official TM Racing Factory rider takes off well this time from the start and enters the first bend in middle of the leading group, at the end of the first lap Tanel passes in twelfth place. With much traffic and with many passes to be made Tanel progresses and manages to set good times allowing himself to catch and pass further riders as the race unfolds. The Estonian Express completes lap after lap and at a good consistent pace only altering by a few 100th's. This constant timing produced by Tanel and combined with some good manouvres and passes allow him to finish the race in 7th place, only faltering in the last few laps with some little mistake in traffic. This for us is a great result, the MX1 class is giving us a huge emotional ride as Tanel's luck goes from one extreme to the other, the level of the pilots lined up in this class is very high and the competition is fierce, the various race winners has demonstrated this.
MX2 Race One: The young Czech pilot, Petr Smitka, is still recuperating and slowly gaining strength after the injury obtained at the French GP and the first race today demonstrates this, Petr battles hard to finish in twenty
fourth position on a difficult track that puts his weakened arm to the test, however the Official of TM RACING never lets up and again demonstrating a great determination.
MX2 Race Two: Race after Race Petr is showing signs of recover and his strength is returning to him, the injury nonetheless is still hampering his efforts but his focus to do well and his confidence are once again returning as the better results bear witness. Trying to pilot his TM Racing machine in smooterh manner to save energy and lessen the impacts on his body Petr relaxes and this allows him to finish the race in seventeenth position gaining some valuable GP points.
