The penultimate round of the 2011 ACU British 2-Stroke Championships took place this past weekend at the famous Canada Heights circuit near Swanley, Kent. With the 'not-so-clever-looking' forecasted weather holding off the scene was set for some exciting 2-Stroke action, however, the rain did eventually show itself later in the day, albeit light enough not to cause any worries, and the TM UK Team powered themselves into the results once more in both the Open and 125cc classes.
The current 2011 series leader in the Open class, Stuart Edmonds on his TM 250 MX machine, took the pole in the mornings qualifying session and set the tone for the day, Stuart went on to take the overall victory with a 1 - 2 - 1 scorecard with only a minor hydraulic clutch niggle ruining his efforts for a three race clean sweep, Stuart leads the Championship standings by 23 points as we go into the final round.
In the 125 class it was Jim Davies, on his TM 125 MX machine, who took second overall on the day with a hatrick of 2nd place finishes, Jim currently sits in second place in the Championship standings with a 41 point deficit going into the final three races of the season. Ryan Pottenger had a day of mixed fortunes in the 125cc class, after a failing lead to his machine's coil forced his retirement in race one he was then forced to ride through the pain barrier in the final of the three races after a nasty spill saw him drop through the pack, Ryan finished the day with a 9 - 6 - 9 scorecard, we are currently unsure where Ryan sits 125 Championship standings due to a points mis-calculation.
With thanks to all of our sponsors and supporters.
Thank you, TM UK.
