The TM UK Cobra Youth Squad of Archie Hicks and Zak Clarke were in action this past weekend at the latest round of the 2011 IOPD British Junior Enduro Championship, this event was held over two days and below is a brief summary of the action.

Day 1:.....

Archie, the reigning champion, got off to a flying start and led the pack into the first turn followed by his team-mate Zak, as Archie stretched his lead out front young Zak made a small mistake navigating a gate crossing on lap 2 and dropped his machine allowing the third pace rider to pass. With Archie still pulling away out front and now lapping the field Zak battled on, a crash by the second placed rider in the rhythm section allowed Zak to regain second place and the TM UK Cobra Youth Squad came home with a 1 - 2 finish with Archie lapping the entire field of riders. Archie also competed in the small wheel 85 class in preparation for his move up next season and rode admirably on the 'big' bike to finish second in the class.

Day 2:......

Overnight rain dampened the proceedings for Sunday race schedule and the 6.5 mile track was incredibly slippery as the youth riders got underway, once more Archie pulled out the holeshot and took to the front and by the end of the first lap was 2 minutes clear of the second placed rider. Zak was not so fortunate and he stalled his machine on the start line relegating himself to the back of the field with work to do. As Zak fought his way through the field Archie continued to dominate and took the win with over a three minute lead, Zak pulled his way back to a very creditable sixth place.

In the 85cc class, after jumping off the 65cc machine straight onto the 85cc machine, Archie lost a second place finish after a crash in the the dying stages relegated him down to fourth.

Well done to both Archie and Zak, who once again, showed their talents and the quality of their Cobra Racing machinery.

Unfortunately both Archie and Zak will miss the next 2 rounds of the Enduro Championship because they are going to try their luck at the Red Bull Elite Youth Cup Moto X alongside TM UK's TM racing team. See you there boys.
