TM UK's long time Motorcross rider, Stuart Edmonds, took the opportunity to compete in the first round of the ACU British Enduro Championship this past weekend and he certainly set some tongues wagging, piloting TM Racing's 2011 250Fi Enduro machine in the Championship - Under 23 - E1 Class Stuart showed his class and adapted to the new discipline incredibly well.
With this being Stuart's first 'time-card' event he was a little aprehensive but nevertheless took to the Thetford Forest circuit well and began setting times straight from that would put him right near the top of the Championship class in amongst the seasoned Enduro stars. Running in the top five overall, and after heading the E1 Class and Under 23 sub class, Stuart unfortunately had a costly crash on the very last 'check' of the day and the subsequent time penalty of 8 minutes ruined his chances of taking the class victories, dropping him from 5th overall and E1 class winner to 21st overall and 6th in the E1 class, a terrible blow for Stuart but no doubt a valuable lesson in Enduro riding. However, Stuart's special test times were something to be proud of and his speed straight from going into this event 'cold' was a great achievement which did not go unoticed by many of the Enduro regulars and spectators.
