The Spanish weekend was marked by bad weather which fortunately gave way to a timid sun that has warmed the Sunday races and all TM fans arrived from all the Spain.
Anthony Boissiére was able to finally finish a race in top position showing that his feeling with the blue Pesaro’s bike grows every race as well as increase the performance of his TM MX450Fi that for this GP has been updated with a new cylinder-head.
During the qualifying race on Saturday, raced under an heavy rain, Anthony was forced to recover after a bad start going back to seventeenth position.
The first heat starts and Anthony Boissiére launches his TM to the first corner at an unusual speed! From the pits it seems that Anthony is the lead but after the fight of the first corners he is in third place behind Philippaerts and Nagl who wins the holeshot. Behind Anthony a menacing Cairoli and then follow the whole group. Nagl pushes and tries to escape while Philipparts follows and Cairoli overtake Boissiére who intelligently seeks to manage his result. Towards mid-race Cairoli slipped off the track and falls away leaving a free way to Boissiére who also gaining ground on Philippaerts. Some mistakes in the final part of the race suggest Anthony not to exaggerate and be satisfied with third place although two laps from the end he is passed from Desalle concluding with an excellent fourth place who projects him among the top MX1 riders.
At the start of the second heat Boissiére cannot repeat the start of the first one. He remains among the group and to avoid some riders that have fallen in front of him he ends outside of the track. Is framed by the cameras while he tries to bring his TM back to the track and he starts from last place with the group that is now far away.Anthony began his difficult recovery ending the race in fourteenth position behind Coppins and the top ten. This double result allows Anthony to close the Spanish GP in ninth place overall and to come back to the fifteenth of the provisional world rankings.
At the end of the race Boissiére said about his performance: "..... today I really could be on the podium! I had a little hesitation at the start of Race 2 and it cost me dearly. However, me and my team needed a confirmation on the track and this fourth place confirmed us that we are on the right way. The podium will come soon ..... ".
